Taking part in The John Heine Entrepreneurial Challenge (JHEC) requires both a human and financial investment– particularly for those travelling from interstate.
We are offering eligible* teams and universities the opportunity to take advantage of a travel and accommodation subsidy to offset the financial costs incurred directly as a result from travelling to compete in this year’s competition.

The JHEC team subsidy has been allocated based on additional travel costs incurred by travelling from interstate. Teams must submit a Supplier Maintenance Form as part of the entry requirements, allowing prize monies, reimbursements or subsidies to be paid to eligible teams/ team members. Subsidies will be paid either:
- directly to each individual team member, or
- one team payment (x # team members) to the business entity, or
- directly to the home university*
A combination of these options is not available, eligible teams must choose one method. To claim your subsidy you must submit a Travel Subsidy Claim Form in addition to the Supplier Maintenance Form.
Subsidies will only be paid post competition to the actual number of team members who physically attended and competed in the competition.
Total subsidy amount is calculated on per team member basis and scale of subsidy is directly related to the participating university’s proximity to Melbourne City.
Teams from university's in Victoria are not eligible to receive this subsidy. See the competition Terms and Conditions for further details*.
